Magnetic resonance methods make it possible to examine the inside of samples without having to open or destroy them. The price of this non-invasiveness is that the sensitivity is quite low. So-called hyperpolarization methods can significantly increase signal and contrast. The solid-state photo-CIDNP effect (photochemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization) is one option. In the first part of the lecture, the effect and its possibilities will be presented. In the second part, the state of the art will be discussed with examples.
